Shaunessy Egan, MS, BCBA

Ms. Egan is a result oriented professional with five years experience working with children with autism and those with academic, language, and behavioral challenges. She is a board certified Behavior Analyst and a certified severe special education teacher. Ms. Egan provides direct instruction to individuals with ASD, performs evaluations, monitors behavior and discrete trial programs, creates functional curriculum, and consults to school systems, organizations, and families.

Shaunessy is proficient in various assessment tools such as:

  • Functional Analysis of Behavior Assessments (FBA),
  • The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS-R), and
  • The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP).

While working towards her Master’s Degree for Simmons College in Behavioral Education, Shaunessy worked as a classroom teacher for preschool and elementary students with ASD. Upon completion of her graduate studies, she worked for the Carbone Clinic in New York designing curriculum, providing trainings, and developing behavior reduction plans utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, with an emphasis on using B.F. Skinner’s behavioral classification of language (Verbal Behavior) as a conceptual guide for teaching language to children.
