Arthur Friedman, Ph.D., LICSW

Arthur Friedman has been a clinician, provider, administrator, policy maker, expert and consultant for the past 30 years. He has worked extensively with public and private organizations across the country and is regarded as a national expert on mental health, substance abuse and child welfare. Dr. Friedman is known for his “trauma-informed” clinical, organizational and systemic approach to change, and has worked effectively with diverse clients in a range of settings.

Dr. Friedman received his MSW in clinical social work from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his Ph.D. from Simmons College School of Social Work. He has served as a Consultant to Massachusetts state agencies including the Department of Public Health and the Department of Children and Families as well as many private non-profit organizations. As a lecturer and trainer, he has developed a range of curricula for clinicians, including the creation of online training courses and accessible online education.

Dr. Friedman’s wide range of clinical experience has included work with individuals, couples, families and groups dealing with post-traumatic stress and other anxiety disorders, problem gambling issues, the treatment of sexual abuse victims and victims of cyber-abuse and other trauma, and a host of other specialty areas.
