Julie Levesque, B.A., BCABA

Julie Levesque has over 18 years of experience serving children and adolescents with a multiplicity of needs, in both Western Massachusetts as well as in Rhode Island. She joined the JLA team after serving as teacher in a classroom designed specifically for children with autism.

Julie received her B.A. in communication disorders from Rhode Island College and a graduate certificate in Behavioral Interventions in Autism from UMASS Lowell. She is currently working on her M.A. in special education at Fitchburg State College. In addition to her recent work, Julie has worked extensively in home and school based programs providing both direct services to children with autism as well as supervision and support to direct line staff.

She has also provided large-group training's to school personnel as well as families and home-based support workers. In addition to her ABA background, Julie has received training in a variety of methodologies including:

  • The SCERTS Model,
  • The Picture Exchange Communication system,
  • DIR-Floortime,
  • Pivotal Response Training,
  • Applied Verbal Behavior,
  • Discrete Trial Training, and
  • Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports.

Julie enjoys combining her communication disorders and behavioral backgrounds in order to utilize a variety of low and high tech augmentative communication strategies. She has a strong passion for working with individuals with ASDs and is able to creatively modify curriculum to the needs of individual students as well as small groups.
